St. Gerard is the patron of expectant mothers. A tailor by profession, he entered the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, the Redemptorists, at age 26. He became famous for his miracles, cures, charities, prayer life, obedience and love for others. One miracle attributed to him was when he was visiting in a home with a young pregnant woman about to lose her baby. His white handkerchief fell out of his coat, and the woman picked it up and was healed. She delivered a healthy baby.
